Wah Wah shell = Kay Tremolo Boost

Custom order for Ben in London.  He wants the Kay Tremolo Boost but in a Wah Wah shell like the original Kay Tremolo.  Been working on this for a while now, here are some before and after pics of the Hammerite paint job, and I will show more pics when it's done.

Zonk Machine soundclip 2 (non mojo)

Another Zonk but built in a 'prototype' case.  No 'mojo' capacitors, plain carbon film resistors, and a trio of CV7355 transistors of the same rough gain values as the 'mojo' Zonk.  Soundclip here.

Zonk Machine soundclip 1 (mojo)

Zonk Machine with OC84, CV7042, and OC45 transistors, pretty full on, reacts well to guitar tone and volume control changes.

Zonk Machine

Version of the Zonk Machine with Carbon Comp resistors, 2 Mullard tropical fish caps, and trimpot to bias the 3rd transistor.  Still trying out different transistors but will put up a soundclip as soon as I'm happy.

Silicon Fuzz Face

Si Fuzz Face for Dave.  Tagboard layout, BC108/109 Silicon transistors, Carbon Comp resistors, Volume, Fuzz, and Bias controls, Gold Hammerite finish.

Zonk Machine prototype

Another early 3 transistor fuzz circuit similar to the Tonebender mk1, this is a test pedal I'm fiddling with, trying out different transistors.  Here are some soundclips with 3 different transistor combinations...

Selmer Echo Boost - Better photos!

Noticed there was a smudge on the lens of the camera after taking the last pics of the Selmer Echo Boost so here are some better shots with a clean lense. Soundclip (level only halfway up on booster) here.

Tonebender mk1 #8

Last of the 'made to order' Tonebender mk1s for Nick in the USA, and a gold Hammerite one as well.  I will still be making mk1s now and again but not in batches like this run of 8.

Red Casio SA-2

At last I got my own Red Casio SA-2, a bit rarer than the black ones and supercool!

Selmer Echo Boost

Finished Booster based on a cross between the Valvecaster and the Selmer Echo 200 input section!  Soundclip to follow.

12au7 Selmer Echo Boost schematic

I have been toying with the idea of doing a booster based around the input section of an old echo unit for a while,  I found a schematic for a Selmer echo 200 where the input section looked very similar to the Valvecaster (apart from it uses an ecc83 valve rather than a 12au7).  So I made this schematic that uses elements of both circuits.  Have breadboarded it and it sounds good!  Nice tone and overdrives in a pleasant way with chords, also reacts well to playing dynamics.

Tonebender mk1 #7

Tonebender mk1 for Fred in the USA.  This one is done on vero board and has socketed ACY22, OC45, and AC128 Transistors.

Treblebooster

Made this for myself, it's based on the JHS Treblebooster circuit but has blendable input capacitors, and switchable output capacitors.  The blend control lets you go from trebleboost/basscut, to full range boost, to overdrive when turned all the way up!

Tonebender mk1 mini #5

Tonebender mk1 clone in a small case with a hand painted gold hammerite finish. Nice little build which I'm very pleased with, last of the '1965' labelled mk1s from me, and likely to be the only small version as well.  This is 'For Sale'!  Soundclip below...
