Home of Metal

Great new project from Capsule.  "Home of Metal is a brand new project aimed at creating the first digital archive of metal music, memorabilia and fans stories, to tell the story of this unique moment of Midlands’ musical heritage. Launching at Wolverhampton Art Gallery on Saturday 25 October, 10am - 4.30pm, the project coincides with the 40th anniversary of when the term ‘heavy metal’ was coined by music journalist Lester Bangs when describing Black Sabbath."

Booger Red

Matt from Booger Red recently bought a Fuzz Face with Mayer/Hendrix mods, input bias mod, and ac-128 transistors.  Check out their music if you like 60s Psychedelia influenced music. Matt also played guitar recently with Malcolm Mooney and Damo Suzuki from Can!  I think Matt is the chap on the right of the picture.

Omnia Opera, Betty and the Id, Windscale gig

Midlands-based plasma rock band Omnia Opera will be performing their first gig in Birmingham in over 15 years on Saturday 18th October 2008.

Following succesful performances at Hawkfest 2007 & 2008 (and with an upcoming support slot for Hawkwind in Wolverhampton on December 10th), Eastern Haze & Sonicworld festivals, as well as other select gigs in the UK, this is a rare chance to see a legendary energetic and out-there performance from one of the countries longest established and most enigmatic psychedelic rock bands.

Taking place in the suberb Green Street Warehouse venue, the night’s entertainment will consist of three live bands, Omnia Opera, Betty & the Id and Windscale, and promises to be “a demented mashup of plasma rock, psychedelia, post rock, prog, electronica and acid”.

Plus Dj’s - Sir Real, Papa Zit, Jajouka, DJ Ronco K-Tel

Visual stimulation and lighting installations will be courtesy of the mighty Catweasel.

Sat 18th October 2008 / 8:00 pm til very late / £7 (£5 confessions)

Windscale music at Indmill

Some Windscale music is now available on Indmill.  There's an E.P. of tracks from the 2nd Windscale album 'Conflicts in Time', and we will add some more 'singles' soon.  Good value too at 45p per 'single' plus a percentage also goes to charity.
